Phil Lynott 25th Anniversary...

The 25th anniversary of the death of Thin Lizzy founder Philip Lynott takes place today.

The Thin Lizzy songwriter and bass guitarist died from pneumonia and heart failure on January 4th, 1986, 11 days after collapsing at his home in Surrey, England. He was 35.

An annual concert has been held every year in Dublin, on his anniversary and this year's sold-out Vibe for Philo concert will feature several former members of Thin Lizzy. The Vibe for Philo gig features performances by The Eric "Bogroll" Bell Trio and The Brian Robertson Band.

New Release: Jailbreak / Black Rose [Box set] (2010)...

There will be a new boxset release of Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak and Black Rose albums together.

I believe that the UK release of this boxset will be on May 10th, 2010 and released in the US on May 18th.

Philip Lynott 60th Birthday Exhibition (2009)...

For those of you who will be in Dublin between Aug 20th and 29th, will have the opportunity to go visit the exhibition to celebrate the 60th Birthday of Philip Lynott.

John Sykes leaves current touring Thin Lizzy...

Thin Lizzy have parted company with Guitarist / Vocalist John Sykes.

Thin Lizzy guitarist and main stay, Scott Gorham- "its been a very tough time of late for myself and the band, firstly with drummer Tommy Aldridge’s injury and now the subsequent decision for John and the rest of the group to go their separate ways. I can only apologize to everyone who has supported us over the years, but we will be back up to full speed soon."

Scott Gorham intends to announce future plans for Thin Lizzy shortly. All Thin Lizzy shows confirmed for 2009 will be cancelled or postponed until further notice.
